Dr Amit Kapoor - Principal Dentist

Dr Amit Kapoor

Principal Dentist

Dr Amit Kapoor is the principal dentist and owner of Great Alpine Dental Advanced Aesthetics and Implants.

After graduating in 2002, he worked as a dentist in India for 7 years before relocating to Australia. Before Dr Amit’s involvement in Great Alpine Dental, he practised dentistry in Cairns and Melbourne in the public and private sectors. He also taught at The University of Melbourne.

Dr Amit enjoys the challenge posed by complex full-mouth dentistry and loves helping people with difficult oral conditions who achieve great smiles and stable oral health. Therefore, his postgraduate education focuses on learning complex dentistry and the different disciplines within dentistry to offer a multidisciplinary approach to resolving complex dental issues. This also helps him offer his patients solutions that otherwise might not be offered elsewhere.

Dr Amit is pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Implants from Europe and has 5 years of experience in dental implants, from single teeth implants to full mouth and All On 4 Implants.

He is also pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Orthodontics to combine this art of moving teeth within complex cases to achieve a more stable result or sometimes simplify a complex situation.

Dr Amit has completed the DSD residency by Dr Christian Coachman and his practice is now an official DSD clinic – ensuring he has international support, end-to-end digitisation, and predictable results when helping his patients achieve great new smiles that last.

This has already helped many people in our community avoid travelling to Melbourne for complex dental needs and have their dental health taken care of locally.

Dr Amit’s belief in state-of-the-art healthcare has motivated him to reinvest heavily in modern technology at Great Alpine Dental, from lasers and microscopes to CAD/CAM dentistry, allowing him to make cutting-edge and complex dentistry easily accessible to the locals in Myrtleford

Dr Chan is passionate about providing high-quality and ethical dentistry while creating a positive and comfortable patient experience. Her uniquely gentle and honest approach has helped put many at ease on the dental chair.

Her interests are wide-ranging, including restorative dentistry (crowns, veneers, and bridges), endodontics (root canal treatment), surgical extractions, and dental implants. Her philosophy of dental care is of a long-term approach, intending to achieve a healthy, functional, and aesthetic set of teeth and gums.

Dr Yi particularly enjoys aesthetic dentistry – creating beautiful and natural-looking smiles for her patients. Her passion for this took her to Madrid, Spain, where she completed a residency in Digital Smile Design developed by the world-renowned cosmetic dentist Dr Christian Coachman from Brazil.

Outside dentistry, Yi enjoys being out in nature – hiking in the mountains and long walks by the beach. She is multilingual and can converse in English, Mandarin, and Japanese, and she is currently mastering Spanish! She is also a keen traveller and can often be found planning her next adventure, exploring various cuisines and cultures the world offers.

Annabelle Crooke - Oral Health Therapist

Annabelle Crooke

Oral Health Therapist

Annabelle graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor’s in Oral Health in 2006, joining the team at Great Alpine Dental in 2020.

Annabelle has had many great experiences in the dental industry, from school dental service in rural and regional Victoria to private practices in Melbourne and five years in the UK, the Caribbean, and Canada. When she returned to Australia, she was lucky enough to work with one of Melbourne’s leading periodontists, providing her with invaluable experience in advanced gum diseases and dental implants.

Annabelle loves oral health therapy and the opportunities it afforded her –  with one of the highlights of her career being volunteering for dental care to remote communities in Western Australia and Papua New Guinea. Annabelle enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them achieve exceptional oral health. In fact, after an appointment with Annabelle, we can guarantee you will be as enthusiastic about your teeth and gums as she is!

Annabelle grew up on a lovely property in the Riverina and considers Falls Creek a second home – being a keen skier and travel lover, she is thrilled to call these two places home!

Maria Bursill - Dental Assistant

Maria Bursill

Dental Assistant

Maria graduated from Wangaratta Tafe with Certificate III Integration Aide in 1986 & Certificate III Aged Care in 2014, joining the team at Great Alpine Dental in 2016.

Maria has been in dentistry for seven and a half years and is usually chair-side assisting patients and dentists, sterilising the equipment, or ordering stock. Maria loves working at Great Alpine Dental Advanced Aesthetic & Dental Implants; the people she works with are like her family – and the patients make her day, too, especially when she can put a smile on their faces.

Maria is a grandmother and mother to a beautiful family. Her spare time is spent bush hiking, watching movies, and doing her family tree with them.

Lisa Venola - Practice Manager at Great Alpine Dental

Lisa Venola

Practice Manager

Lisa has witnessed many changes in the dental industry since starting her dental career in 2003 after completing Certificates III & IV in Dental Assisting. She took all this knowledge and joined Great Alpine Dental in 2017.

Lisa loves meeting and working with different people and building professional relationships with them. Seeing patients walk through the door with dental issues and leave with a confident, happy smile gives her a sense of fulfilment and joy.

Lisa’s pre-dental life was quite a different world yet similarly specific. Instead of teeth, she focused on everything horses, working with eventing horses, racehorses, polo ponies, and even within the breeding industry. While that work is behind her now, she still loves horses and has her own that she takes out for a ride around beautiful national parks in our area. If Lisa isn’t doing that in her spare time, she’s nourishing her veggie patch or keeping fit in our wonderful region.

Dental Assistant at Great Alpine Dental

Chelsea Croucher

Dental Assistant

Chelsea has recently finished her training in Certificate III Dental Assisting and has been working at Great Alpine Dental since August 2020. What attracted Chelsea to our practice is the location, people and patients are as admirable as each other!

She loves hearing the stories from our patients’ hometown and their appreciation for the alpine region – and can relate, as she absolutely adores the alpine valley and the surrounding nature. Chelsea’s favourite part about her job is how rewarding it is to see patients’ confidence and smiling after they have had a full restoration of their smile. She loves the challenges work brings to her everyday and always has a goal to work towards. Chelsea loves to have a meaningful chat with the patients also while having a laugh.

Outside of dental work, Chelsea loves artistic activities, exercising and socialising with the people she cares about.
