Who is eligible for Access My Super and how does it work?

All Australian citizens are eligible to apply for the early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds to help cover the cost of some medical treatments.

Using the Access my Super service, you’ll receive an invitation from our practice to send an application to the ATO showing that your condition is causing chronic or acute pain. If you’re eligible, you may be able to pay for your treatments using your Super. This service will incur a small fee.

There are borrowing limits on the other options. What’s the withdrawal limits for Access My Super?

If eligible, the Access My Super website states that there are no limits on the amount of super you can withdraw.

I don’t have enough Super. Can I use someone else’s?

Yes, if eligible, you can access the super of your spouse, partner or other dependents to cover your treatment costs.
