Improve Teeth Function & Restore your Smile with Crowns and Bridges in Myrtleford, Wangaratta, Beechworth, Bright.
At Great Alpine Dental, we understand how a tooth’s poor function or appearance can inhibit your lifestyle. A crown or bridge may be an excellent treatment option to improve the appearance or functionality of one or more of your teeth.
Crowns and bridges serve as ‘prosthetics,’ or spare parts our dentists use to repair teeth. They cover your tooth like a cap, protecting the damaged tooth underneath while restoring appearance and functionality. Crowns and bridges are made from porcelain, ceramic, and metal materials. We only use TGA-certified high-quality ceramics for our crowns and bridges, which are made in-house for a flawless finish and fit.
A crown may be a suitable treatment option for you to:
- Prevent breakage of a weakened tooth
- Restore a chipped or cracked tooth
- Replace a large dental filling
- Cover a misshapen or discoloured tooth
- Anchor a bridge
- Complete a dental implant
If you have gaps in your smile due to missing teeth, a bridge can be used to ‘bridge’ the gap for easier chewing, improving teeth function while helping improve aesthetics.

What To Expect When Getting A Crown
Getting a crown is generally carried out over a single appointment. From one case to another, this may vary.
- We will numb your tooth and the area around it to remove the damaged areas with little to no discomfort. The foundation of your tooth is then reinforced to enhance its strength.
- For the custom manufacturing of your crown, we take a digital scan of your tooth. We have CEREC, a system that allows us to make your crown in-house without sending it to the lab and delivering it on the same day
- The final step of the process involves the fitting of your custom-made crown. Our dentist will check your bite and adjust your dental crown accordingly. We will then bond it into place. We only use tooth-coloured and biocompatible TGA certified high-quality ceramics for all our crowns and bridges.
This way, you get a single visit crown on the same day without having to wear a temporary crown for many days or wait for the lab to manufacture your permanent one. You don’t have to come in for a second visit. Of course, in a small number of cases, a temporary crown may be technically required and may vary for each patient depending on the amount of dental work needed.
What To Expect When Getting A Bridge
Getting a bridge is generally carried out over 2 or 3 appointments after your initial consultation and assessment. Depending on your specific case and teeth condition but typically involves:
- In the first appointment, we will shape the teeth supporting your bridge. These teeth and the surrounding areas are numbed for this part of the process to make you as comfortable as possible.
- We will then create a digital scan of your teeth and do a colour match. In our CEREC dental system, we can often make your bridge in-house and deliver on the same day. Sometimes we may need to send you to our dental laboratory to construct your bridge. A temporary bridge will be fitted until your permanent one is ready.

You must maintain good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups to get the most life out of your newly fitted crown or bridge.
